Frequently asked questions about QuickConverterLab.
Answers about supported workflows, privacy, temporary processing and common converter limitations.
Do I need an account to use QuickConverterLab?
The current tools are designed for direct use without creating a QuickConverterLab account.
Are all files uploaded to a server?
No. Supported browser-based operations can run on your device. Video conversion and advanced PDF editing may use temporary server processing.
Which image formats are supported?
The image converter is designed for common formats such as JPG/JPEG, PNG, WebP and HEIC/HEIF where browser support or included libraries allow it.
Can I convert a video to MP3?
The video converter is designed to support common video and audio outputs, including MP3, when the processing service is available.
Can QuickConverterLab edit scanned PDF text?
Scanned PDFs contain images rather than a normal selectable text layer. Editing that text generally requires OCR, so results depend on whether OCR is available for the document.
How long are server-processed files kept?
QuickConverterLab is designed for temporary processing rather than permanent storage. Exact cleanup or expiry timing can vary by processing service configuration.
Why can a conversion fail?
Unsupported codecs, damaged files, password-protected documents, browser limitations, file-size limits and temporary server capacity can all cause a job to fail.
Is QuickConverterLab free?
Yes. QuickConverterLab is a free, open-source utility project. Advertising may be introduced to help cover hosting and processing costs, but the listed tools do not require a paid QuickConverterLab account.
